Recreation venues in Koyasan There are a variety of recreational facilities for your family or traveling group, whatever your size or interests. The town boasts several baseball fields, a gymnasium, a town theater, an iceskate rink, a nature center, a forestry center, a log house, a rhododendron park/nature walk, several hiking trails, a sports park and a ski area. In the summer, visitors can enjoy the great outdoors in several parks. Hiking is also an attraction in and around the many acres of forests surrounding the town. Wintertime provides plenty of the white powdery stuff for snowman building, having snowball fights or constructing kamakura (traditional Japanese igloos).
